Seeking Shellfish Served Many Ways

Restaurant Name

One of the best things about living in New England – besides having the country's greatest sports teams, of course – is our fresh seafood. If indulging in shellfish outdoors is your thing – now that alfresco dining season is finally upon us – check out the patio at Theater District French Pigalle, which is offering $1 bivalves on the half shell.

Lobster lovers can get their fix many ways at Excelsior in Back Bay, which is featuring a different $30 lobster entree every week this summer. This week it's Maine lobster with ginger-soy glazed tail, sweet-and-sour claws, jasmine rice and stir-fried vegetables. For the week starting on Monday, June 23rd, lobster tail Milanese with lobster risotto Newburg and buttered asparagus will be on offer. Matching wine recommendations cost between $40–$60 per bottle. A full schedule of the different lobster specials is available on the restaurant's website.

Those who really, really love lobsters can always rent their own Maine lobster trap and fisherman for a year. For a mere $2,995, you can be guaranteed at least 48 one-and-a-half-lb. lobsters as well as 12 lbs. of steamers and 12 lbs. of mussels. Finding recipes to cook all of that, however, will be up to you. But at least you know how you can end the meal – with the 48 servings of Maine-made desserts that are also included in the package (for more information call 877-222-4630 or visit www.catchapieceofmaine.com).
