Make Mine To-Go

Good news for those on-the-go: the trend of restaurants opening adjacent cafes and markets featuring buy-and-fly fare keeps growing. Evan Deluty, chef-owner of Stella in the South End, opened Stella Café next door to the grown-up version for breakfast and lunch fare – think muffins and pastries plus panini, pizza and salads (weekdays 6 AM–6 PM, Saturdays 8 AM–4 PM; 1525 Washington St.; 617-247-2900). Gaslight Brasserie du Coin has launched Green Light in the back, adjacent to its patio; with an emphasis on organic and artisanal fare, it offers a low-key take-out menu of baked goods, sandwiches and salads as well as a place to relax with an espresso (7 AM–5 PM; 560 Harrison Ave.; 617-426-8646). Alta Strada's lower-level market is an easy option when there's no time for sit-down dining at Michael Schlow's Wellesley Italian. In addition to sandwiches, salads and pizza, the pasta and antipasti selection make for convenient pickup meals in serving sizes for groups small and large (Monday–Saturday 11 AM–9 PM, Sunday 11 AM–7 PM; 781-489-2050). And the Boulangerie at Sel de la Terre offers breads and pastries, soups and salads, and charcuterie and cheeses for taking-out or eating-in at casual indoor and patio seating (Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–10 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9 AM–10 PM; Boston, 617-720-1300; Natick, 508-650-1800).
