Outside + Lobster Roll = Summer Tradition

There's something about dining outdoors on lobster rolls during summer that makes the tradition seem new each time this short season rolls around, especially if you're waterside. So grab one to stay or go at the newly opened D Street Café in South Boston's Maritime Park (market price, served with half an ear of corn). Near the Financial District, Intrigue Cafe at the Boston Harbor Hotel serves Maine lobster salad on a grilled roll accompanied by asparagus, roasted tomato and yellow bean salad ($21.50). Further up the harbor, near Columbus Park, Tia’s on the Waterfront offers its classic version with a cup of clam chowder ($24.95) or with fruit and chips ($20.95). And popular Charlestown party spot Tavern on the Water has a sweeping view of Boston Harbor to accompany its lobster salad on a torpedo roll with shredded lettuce ($17.95).
