Three decades ago – long before the South End was a hip dining destination – chef Chris Douglass opened Icarus, which went on to become a Boston culinary institution. Douglass once again proved his pioneer status when he opened Ashmont Grill in Dorchester three years ago. And next week, that neighborhood will see the highly anticipated debut of another Douglass restaurant, Tavolo. The 100-seat Italian, part of The Carruth project, will feature two dining rooms, a sleek lounge area and a menu that promises a wide range of antipasto and pizzas, panini and pasta (1900 Dorchester Ave.).
