At Sofra Bakery and Café in Cambridge, Ana Sortun, chef-owner of Oleana, and her pastry chef, Maura Kilpatrick, showcase their flair for Middle Eastern cuisine with boldly flavored picnic foods (the name is Arabic for ‘picnic’) such as hummus, handmade flatbreads and pastries; the sunny, funky cafe includes tapestry-draped benches at copper tables and a butcher-block table displaying Sortun’s cookbook, spices and seasonal ingredients from Siena Farms (owned by Sortun’s husband, Chris Kurth).
