Wine Tasting at Rosecliff

Fans of history and gastronomy, get ready. The Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival runs from September 25th–28th, offering a smorgasbord of events at area restaurants and historic properties. Attend Thursday night wine dinners at eateries like Clarke Cooke House, The Mooring and 22 Bowen's Wine Bar & Grille (6:30 PM; $125–$175; see more details). On Friday night, go Italian at "Wine and Rosecliff" with vino, music and a menu by Odette Fada (NYC's San Domenico) at the estate where The Great Gatsby was filmed (7:30–11:30 PM; $175–$195; get more info). Taste wines from over 150 vineyards with food pairings by two dozen restaurants and caterers at the Grand Tastings on Saturday and Sunday (noon–4 PM; $60–$95; see additional details). Throughout the festival, there will be seminars led by industry experts such as Yankee Magazine food editor Annie Copps, Formaggio Kitchen's Ishan Gurdal and Blue Ginger chef-owner Ming Tsai (times vary; $40–$125; find out more).
