L’Espalier, the venerable French restaurant owned by award-winning chef Frank McClelland, has opened its new location adjacent to the Mandarin Oriental Boston in the Back Bay. Its modern digs offer three separate dining rooms: the Corner Room, alight with cream walls and artwork; the Crystal Room, with all-glass walls, a stunning wine display and a window overlooking Boylston Street; and the Library, a cozy romantic room with dark wood and dim lighting. Fans of McClelland’s cuisine, punctuated by the New England seasons, won’t miss a beat since the prix fixe menus continue to carry his signature dishes, like butter-poached lobster (774 Boylston St.; 617-262-3023).
