Sage Drinking Advice

Out of the stuffing and into the cocktail glass? Sage, that herb often inextricably linked to Thanksgiving stuffing, is making its way into drinks around town. The Oak Room at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Back Bay credits Restaurant Zoë in Seattle, WA, for its sage and oak margarita – the classic tequila cocktail made with Sauza Hornitos Reposado tequila, Grand Marnier, freshly squeezed lime juice and hand-pressed organic sage ($17). The bar at the elegant new Sensing at Fairmont Battery Wharf in Boston also features an oak and sage margarita for $17. Meanwhile, Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli, the mixologist at Craigie on Main in Cambridge, has concocted a tangy drink called the Ardoise – a vodka cocktail with hints of sage, mouth-puckering lime juice and juniper – garnished with a sage leaf ($10).
