Boston

Prepare to Be Toasted

Despite the rough economy, there are still a number of restaurant openings (and moves) on tap:

The Friendly Toast: This Portsmouth, NH, eatery is set to open its first Boston area location in Cambridge. Known for its colorful homemade breakfasts (Almond Joy pancakes, green eggs and ham) and eclectic decor, the diner hopes to open with a full bar in April (1 Kendall Sq.).

Tory Row: This casual cafe serving American and European fare is slated to open in the former Greenhouse Coffee Shop location in Harvard Square this month. It’s operated by the same owners of Audubon Circle, Cambridge, 1 and Miracle of Science (3 Brattle St.).

Finally, after 15 years in a conjoined Jamaica Plain space, Bella Luna and Milky Way Lounge are moving across town in style with a lively New Orleans–style jazz procession (complete with live bands, stilt walkers and other festivities). Everyone’s invited to accompany the procession to the businesses’ new home in The Brewery Complex, at 284 Amory Street. Both are set to reopen, now with outdoor seating, in mid-April, although sadly the Milky Way's bowling lanes won't make the trip (617-524-6060).
