Cochon 555, billed as the only national chef competition promoting heritage pigs and breed diversity, hits Boston for the first time with an event at the Liberty Hotel on April 5. Five local chefs, including Jason Bond (Beacon Hill Bistro), Jamie Bissonnette (Toro), Joseph Margate (Clink) and Tony Maws (Craigie on Main) will prepare 70-lb. pigs head-to-toe, with the winner selected by guests and professional judges according to creativity, classic preparation and overall best flavor (5–8 PM; $125 per person; 617-224-4000; buy tickets).
