For a few minutes of Hump Day distraction, we can heartily recommend the peerless Burnt Food Museum website. It was started after its curator discovered that hot apple cider, left to cook for too long, can become a freestanding object d'art. The museum's "collection" also includes burnt cutlery, waffles, lemons and more – truly, a marvel to behold. You can even submit your own addition to the collection (because really, who doesn't enjoy burning stuff?), but just remember, "to cook the Museum way – always leave the flame on low ... and then take a long nap." To which we add, "and always keep a fire extinguisher handy."
