Lobster With a Side of Sea

Lobster rolls have long been a New England staple, and with prices of the tasty crustacean still low, it's a perfect time to indulge. Add a stunning view of the water to the experience, and you've got the very definition of summertime bliss.

Boasting new ownership and an updated menu, Home Port in Menemsha remains the Vineyard hot spot for enjoying a lobster roll in your bathing suit; order at the window and take to the nearby beach ($15, only available for take out; 508-645-2679).

At newcomer Rowes Wharf Sea Grille in the Waterfront Boston Harbor Hotel, you can enjoy the restaurant's lobster salad in a lightly toasted challah roll with a side of fries while overlooking Boston Harbor ($23.50; 617-856-7744).

Tavern on the Water in Charlestown serves up its own Maine lobster roll with classic Old Bay spice and a sweeping view of the city ($17.95; 617-242-8040).

If you're heading to Nantucket this summer, Topper’s serves its roll on a buttered brioche, accompanied by an undeniably romantic vista (508-228-8768; $25).
