Despite the demise of the formal Dining Room, you won’t go hungry for fine dining at Streeterville’s Ritz, thanks to the Ritz-Carlton Café's upgraded dinner menu of expensive New American cuisine (breakfast, lunch and brunch remain unchanged) and wine offerings, which now include the hotel’s master list of 350 selections; the partitions have been removed, opening the space entirely onto the vast lobby with its soothing fountain.
New owners are going for an easy supper club vibe in Streeterville’s former Chestnut Grill space with 200 East on Chestnut, which serves moderately priced Traditional American and Italian dishes plus a few pricey steaks; the spacious bar area boasts a dance floor and live music on Wednesdays–Saturdays, while heavy drapes provide diners with acoustic relief.
