Where will you be dining this summer? Here's a rundown of new options:
In late May, the funky, fruity fave, Orange, is scheduled to open a third location, this one in Roscoe Village at the former Brett’s Café Americain space (2011 W. Roscoe St.).
Maijean, a French bistro from chef-owner Nadia Tilkian (ex Bistro 110, Barrington Country Bistro), is readying for an early June debut in West Suburban Clarendon Hills (30 South Prospect Ave.; 630-794-8900).
Also opening in early June, Primo Canto in Edgewater (5414 W. Devon Ave.; 773-631-0100) will specialize in all-you-can-eat Brazilian BBQ chicken, with naturally raised birds – plus meats and vegetables – all cooked on a wood-burning grill.
A little later in the month, Jon Young (Kitsch’n) and Stephen Dunne (Volo) will branch out with The Paramount Room, an upscale-casual Near West spot serving tweaked pub fare, esoteric brews and a light late-night menu (415 N. Milwaukee Ave.).
Prolific restaurateur Jerry Kleiner heads farther south to open Hyde Park Grill, a casual American, at the end of June (5201 S. Harper Ave.).
Later this summer, fine dining in West Suburban St. Charles will get a boost with Fahrenheit, an upscale, organic-conscious New American from a veteran of Spiaggia and Tin Fish (1890 W. North Ave.).
Also slated for summer's end is Powerhouse Restaurant and Bar, a swanky steakhouse with a secondary sandwich and burger cafe housed in an old Near West railroad powerhouse (215 N. Clinton St.).
And Bluprint will expand the dining options at River North's Merchandise Mart this summer; from the Rhapsody/Blue Plate Catering team, the New American spot will feature the Mart’s first full-service bar (222 Merchandise Mart Plaza, Suite 135).
