Ivrea's Battle of the Oranges

Every year, thousands of people in Italy's Ivrea region divide into teams and bombard each other with oranges during the aptly named Battle of the Oranges, part of a three-day carvnival just before Lent. Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar celebrates this tradition in a painless way – on the plate.
Its orange-themed menu will be offered from Saturday, February 24th, through Saturday, March 1st, featuring dishes like blood orange and shaved red onion salad with balsamic syrup ($11), mussels with fennel and orange in a white wine and shallot broth ($10), braised duck and asparagus in an orange-tarragon broth with papparadelle ($17) and citrus pound cake with orange sabayon ($6).
