Wallet-Friendly Eats in Honor of Tax Day

April 15th doesn't have to be all bad news. Celebrate tax day with specials around town set to provide relief.

At Pops for Champagne, $10.40 deals include bar plates prepared by new executive chef Andrew Brochu (ex Alinea), glasses of premium bubbly and gift certificates worth $10.40 given at the stroke of 10:40 PM. Café Matou gets in the spirit of tax day by offering a special cocktail through the end of April called Le Percepteur ("Tax Man"), made with 360 Vodka, F. Meyer Eau-de-vie de Mirabelle and Grand Marnier – plus “lots” of bitters ($9.50). And the Tax Day Lunch Special at Ai has them declaring that on April 15th all lunch entrees normally priced at $13.50 will be $10.99. These include maki moriwase, tuna don, unagi don, chicken teriyaki and pistachio-crusted salmon teriyaki.
