We know pizza's pretty cheap to begin with, but we're not going to complain when it gets a little cheaper. Pizzeria Via Stato in the Loop is offering its traditional Roman-style pies at half-price, Monday–Friday from 2:30–4:30 PM (312-337-6634).
Trumping cheap, however, is free. On September 5, which is apparently "National Cheese Pizza Day" (pepperoni, you'll have to wait your turn), River North Italian La Madia is letting kids 12-and-under stretch their own dough, top it with housemade tomato sauce and mozzarella, and then devour their efforts for free (deal continues after the 5th; accompanying adult must purchase a pizza; 312-329-0400; reserve online).
