Maybe the phrase “Greek wine” conjures up horrible glasses of cloying retsina. Well, here’s your chance to rediscover the bounty of Greece’s vineyards. On Monday, October 19, Taxim in Wicker Park hosts a multicourse Greek dinner paired with wines from esteemed Greek winery Domaine Skouras. The owner and winemaker, George Skouras, will discuss the wines paired with each course, which include highlights like mullet roe and winter squash rissoles with savory cabbage salad; and oven-roasted heirloom eggplant with Messinian olive oil, garlic confit, fresh herbs, pine nuts and touloumi cheese. Look at the whole menu as a PDF here (7 PM; $85 inclusive; 773-252-1558).
