While there aren’t too many details available now, Gordon Ramsay is opening Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Food in the long-awaited Heathrow Terminal 5 in March 2008. It looks like airplane food may no longer be an oxymoron: Itsu and Giraffe are also scheduled to open outposts.
Thomasina Miers, 2005 winner of MasterChef Goes Large and a former toque at Petersham Nurseries Cafe, will be launching Wahaca, a Mexican restaurant serving healthy market-inspired fare, in Covent Garden in August.
The owners of The Greyhound in Battersea are opening The Rosendale in West Dulwich (65 Rosendale Rd., SE21; 020-8670 0812) in June. There will be a landscaped garden for alfresco eating and drinking in addition to the ground-floor gastropub and upstairs Modern British restaurant. The food will be similar to The Greyhound's.
