Spring Dining: Vegetarian Week, Flower Show Menus and More

Special menus inspired by spring are popping up everywhere:

May 14–June 8: Lanes is celebrating white asparagus season with special à la carte dishes such as marinated white asparagus with crabmeat salad and white asparagus soup with potato herb fritters. There will also be the classic asparagus with Hollandaise sauce (020-7499 0888).

May 21–27: Celebrate National Vegetarian Week at Morgan M with its six-course “From the Garden” spring menu (£38 per person; £62 per person with wine pairings) featuring innovative dishes such as chilled cream of broad bean with chervil foam and an assiette of avocado-and-aubergine caviar, thin tuile of tomato and red-pepper sorbet. Rhubarb-and-Jurançon ice cream and coulis is on the list for dessert (020-7609 3560).

May 22–26: In honor of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, several restaurants are offering Garden Menus. Bluebird is offering a prix fixe for £16.50 for two courses and £22.50 for three. Available at lunch and dinner, it includes such choices as wild nettle soup with organic rape seed oil and pumpkin seeds and confit of Goosnargh duck with broad beans, Jersey Royals, mustard and parsley (020-7559 1000). Brunello is offering four courses for £48 at both lunch and dinner, and the price includes a special flower cocktail (020-7368 5900).
