Almeida's new lunch deal is aimed at Yummy Mummies, but since this is a French restaurant the menu is dubbed "Maman Delicieuse" (mais oui!). Offered daily from noon–3 PM, it presents a lighter take on Almeida's classic fare, seeking to appeal to both mums and tots.
For the first course, there's a choice of chilled tomato, basil and olive oil soup; goat cheese soufflé with pear-and-walnut salad; or artichoke-and-mâche salad with pistou dressing. For the main course, there's cold-poached organic salmon with green salad and Jersey Royals; whole grilled plaice with spinach and tartare sauce; or roasted chicken with spring vegetables and herb broth. Among the desserts are mango-and-passion-fruit parfait, lemon tart and ice cream (£14.50 per person for two courses; £17.50 per person for three courses; for children, starters and desserts cost £3.50 each and main courses are £5.50; 020-7354 4777).
