Fox and Anchor, a Farringdon gastropub in existence since 1898 (Oscar Wilde supposedly enjoyed secret trysts in the 200-year-old building), has been given a fresh lease on life by the Malmaison hotel chain, who has restored the fine Edwardian interior to include six swishy suites; the new owner will serve wine from his Sussex vineyard, while the upmarket pub menu will include options like homemade pork rinds.
