Catching American Football's Big Game

super bowl xlii

While it's no World Cup, the Super Bowl, the final match in the American football season, is still a pretty big deal. If you are looking for a place to catch the game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots on 3rd February, here are two very American locales to check out.

At the Hard Rock Cafe, table reservations are already gone, but you can still head over – you'll just have to stand. Expect lots of standard American sports fare like hot dogs (£5.25), sloppy joe’s (£5.25) and cheese nachos (£7.95) to munch on while you cheer the teams on (doors open at 8 PM; £15 per person; 020-7629 0382).

In honour of the big game, the Texas Embassy Cantina will be offering a special on that most American of beers, Budweiser. For £10 you can purchase either a pitcher or four bottles. There will also be a special menu and though it hasn't been finalized yet we're hearing that hot dogs will feature prominently (020-7925 0077).
