Café Boheme reopens mid-March after a major face-lift; it will be Henry Harris’ (ex Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor and Racine) first project as chef director of the Soho House group (13–17 Old Compton St.; 020-7734 0623).
Also in March, Osteria Stecca, an Italian from Stefano Stecca (ex Brunello and the former Rosmarino), will fill the St. John’s Wood site vacated by Rosmarino with a 50-seat dining room, a terrace for 20 and a small bar serving stuzzichini – that's snacks to us (1 Blenheim Terrace, NW8; 020-7328 5014).
Come April, Apsleys will debut in the Lanesborough, inhabiting the space of the erstwhile The Conservatory. With decor by Tihany Design (NYC's Le Cirque, Jean Georges, Per Se) that will incorporate the famous glass-conservatory roof, a kitchen run by chef Nick Bell (ex Cecconi’s and Zafferano) and a wine list of 500 bottles with at least 16 available by the glass, it sounds molto bene (1 Lanesborough Pl., SW1; 020-7259 5599).
Maze's Jason Atherton will open a casual offshoot, maze Grill, just "across the hall" so to speak, in Mayfair’s Grosvenor Square in April. Modelled after New York grill restaurants, it will offer a wide range of cuts of meat along with salads, sandwiches and platters and will feature a butcher’s table as well as a chef’s table. April also sees the launch of Atherton’s first cookbook, maze, The Cookbook (published by Quadrille Publishing Ltd., £20).
