The Chicago Rib Shack will relaunch on 8th May (in the former Mocato space), just around the corner from its former location. The Knightsbridge original opened in 1982 and closed its doors in December 1999 (when its lease expired), leaving many American expats to do without their rib fix. Until now. For those who just can't wait until the official debut, Chicago Rib Shack offers online booking for preview meals from this Friday, 25th April–6th May.
Expect the tried-and-true fare of the original, as the former head chef will oversee the kitchen and use the same recipes for applewood-smoked babyback ribs, stuffed potato skins, secret sauces and the famous onion loaf. Interiors will feature exposed-brick walls, leather banquettes and booths with a bar at street level and a dining room downstairs (145 Knightsbridge, SW1; 020-7591 4664).
