Brothers Tom and Ed Martin, owners of the gastro-group that includes The Gun and The Empress of India, will debut The Botanist in May. Smack in the middle of Chelsea’s Sloane Square, it will offer all-day British-at-heart dining daily. Named in honour of adventurous naturalist Sir Hans Sloane, whose private collection of plant and animal specimens formed the core of The British Museum and The Natural History Museum, the space will be dominated by a gallery of hand-painted illustrations from Sloane’s Caribbean exploration (7 Sloane Sq., SW1; 020-7730 0077).
