Billed as “London’s largest public event,” the Notting Hill Carnival (23–25 August) celebrates the city’s vibrant Caribbean culture with music, dance and, of course, food and drink. And two restaurants situated on the Carnival route have designed special cocktails to get patrons in a party-minded mood: Mexican newcomer Santo is offering the “Notting Hill Chilli Thrill” (tequila, pineapple and mango juice, served in a chili-rimmed martini glass), while the gastropub Paradise is whipping up “Carnival Nonsense” (two kinds of rum mixed with coconut and other fresh fruit). Both drinks will be available through the end of August.
