Flip the bird to the credit crunch at Kumo, an ultrapricey Knightsbridge newcomer and an honourable addition to London’s trendy proliferation of Japanese-influenced bars complete with a handcrafted onyx bar, a ceiling that resembles the inside of a pyramid and red silk walls; mixologist Douglas Ankrah creates cocktails such as the Zen Shinto, made with apricot purée, rhubarb liqueur and cognac, while classy snacks come courtesy of ex–Nobu and Zuma employees.
