Islington’s main drag, Upper Street, has changed in recent times, and the LA-style dive bar Slim Jim's is a sign of its trendy – some might even say brash – new style; dim, neon-accented lighting, red leather stools and rock on the jukebox create a fittingly bare-bones ambiance for the standard-issue collection of moderately priced beers and cocktails.
