City European Vivat Bacchus is rolling out a whole slew of tasting events in April. First up are the wines from Constantia, a suburb of Cape Town, happening on the same date that the first Dutch seafarers landed in the Cape of Good Hope, 6 April (£15 per person). Next, it’s on to bubbly, with champagne from Ruinart, guided by Tim Wildman of importer Les Caves de Pyrène (14 April, £15 per person). Wine paired with “smelly French cheese” is the name of the game on 20 April (£20 per person), and the month wraps up with a tour of Australian wine on 27 April (£15 per person). Additionally, the restaurant is hosting a few wine dinners, the details of which can be found here (020-7234-0891).
