March 16: LearnAboutWine.com presents "Taste of Napa Valley," a tasting of 30 wines with a discussion and passed hors d'oeuvres, at H.D. Buttercup (7:30–9:30 PM; $40 per person in advance; $50 per person at the door; 3225 Helms Ave., Culver City; 310-451-7600).

March 18: Chocolate Box Cafe hosts a "Pleasure Palate Chocolate Tasting," a sampling of 10 Belgian chocolates followed by a discussion (6:30 PM; $16 per person; 714 Foothill Blvd., La Canada; 818-790-7918).

March 22: The Sake Festival features an encyclopedic tasting of more than 350 sakes along with small dishes from Asakuma, Chaya, Katana, Katsu-ya and Sushi Roku, held at the ballroom in Le Méridien Beverly Hills (6–9 PM; $40 per person in advance; $45 per person at door; 310-592-2686; www.usjrf.org/sake).

March 26: It's "The Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs of Walter Hansel" at Bistro 45, where winemaker Steven Hansel will be pouring five wines – including his Cuvée Alyce and Kahill Lane Chardonnays – with five courses to match (6:30 PM; $85 per person, includes wine; 626-795-2478).

March 28: Sake master Seio Shimada of World Sake Imports will lead "Wally's Presents: Sake & Sushi, a Taster's Tour" featuring dishes from Sushi Dokoro Ki Ra La (7 PM; $50 per person, includes sake; The SportsClub/LA, 1835 Sepulveda Blvd., West LA; 310-475-0606).

April 8: Along with its regular menu, La Cachette will offer a fixed-price four-course Easter dinner of scrambled eggs topped with caviar, Alaskan pike quenelles, roast leg of lamb and chocolate profiteroles (5 PM onward; $70 per person; 310-470-4992).
