For most, one of the nice things about dining out is that you don't have to shop for the food. But blue on blue is betting that not everyone feels that way. The New American now offers a Friday and Saturday night "Chef's Table," a seven-course meal created by chef Gabriel Gabreski built around seasonal ingredients. It's $175 per person (for between four to eight diners, with wine included), but for $250 extra, your group can go shopping for the ingredients with the chef at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market (310-407-7791).
