What the hell is a gastropub? We've been pondering that question for some time (we even took a stab at answering it back in 2006), and apparently Ben Ford, chef-owner of Culver City gastropub Ford's Filling Station, has too.
On January 23rd, in the first in a series of dinner-lectures, Ford will explain the concept to hungry patrons – and feed them dishes that illustrate his points. If all goes well, further Ford lectures will follow every six weeks on topics like "Snout to Tail," "Cooking by Hand" and "Pig Out Night" (January 23, 6:30 PM; $75 per person; 310-202-1470).
