For wine lovers, this summer promises to be a happy one, with a number of upcoming tastings and dinners rolling in.

On July 12th, the third annual LA Wine Fest kicks off in Hollywood. Running two days with tastes of more than 500 wines and spirits, the festival also offers special events for an additional cost: a Georg Riedel comparative wine tasting on Saturday costs $90, and a wine dinner on Sunday costs $125 (festival runs 2–6 PM daily; $45 per person per day, $80 for two days; Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Ave.; more details and tickets are available at lawinefest.com).

Ten days later, Five Crowns is hosting a Ferrari-Carano Wine Dinner, which offers five courses from executive chef Dennis Brask, including a medallion of kurobuta pork served with balsamic glaze and red quinoa, and wine pairings by Ferrari-Carano sommellier Aaron Piotter (July 22; 7 PM; $110 per person; for reservations call 949-760-0331).

Finally, on August 3rd, the fifth annual Central Coast Wine & Food Celebration arrives. Hosted by Wally’s Wine, this benefit for the Michael Bonaccorsi Scholarship Fund boasts wine from more than 50 Central Coast wineries and food from such top spots as AOC, Campanile, Hungry Cat, Pizzeria Mozza, Sona, Spago and more (noon–4 PM; 2107 Westwood Blvd.; for more information and to make a reservation visit www.wallywine.com).
