Like other restaurants around the country, Michael Mina's XIV has decided that prix fixe alone won't necessarily bring in the crowds. The New American in West Hollywood has added an à la carte menu as an alternative to its existing tasting menus (323-656-1414; reserve online; Chow Balla has the full menu).
