Fraîche Starts

After being closed for a year following a kitchen fire, the Brentwood Cal-Italian Coral Tree Café has reopened with a fresh interior and the same outdoor dining patio that made it one of the Westside's top casual dining destinations (11645 San Vicente Blvd., Brentwood, 310-979-8733).

And in other news, as reported by Eater and Squid Ink, a new location of Jason Travi's Fraîche will replace its sibling restaurant, Riva. A call to Riva confirmed that the Santa Monica Italian is closing on Wednesday, October 14, and that it will reopen as Fraîche on Monday, October 19. The menu will be the same as at the Culver City location, with one key difference: according to the Riva employee we spoke to, Travi will no longer be involved, although information on his replacement is currently unavailable.
