Tomorrow, August 1, expect Indian arrival Aaheli – specializing in both North and South cuisine – to start cutting its teeth in Hell's Kitchen. Taking over for the late Italian Puccini, the new spot will feature a lunch buffet (noon–3 PM; $7.99 Monday–Thursday; $8.99 Saturday–Sunday), and a varied menu featuring dosas, seafood specialties, bean and lentil combinations and tandoori (826 9th Avenue).
In other Hellish news, recently opened sandwich shop Xie Xie from Jean Georges alum Angelo Sosa will begin offering salads and vegetarian sandwich options as early as next week. Check out the current menu here (645A 9th Ave.; 212-265-2975).
