Seven hundred street-cart enthusiasts turned out for the fifth annual Vendy Awards at the Queens Museum of Art on Saturday, where judges including Jacques Torres, Pichet Ong and Jehangir Mehta named the Country Boys/Martinez Taco Truck the winner of the coveted Vendy Cup. Other nods were given to the Biryani Cart, which took the Grey Poupon People’s Taste Award; Wafels and Dinges, which won for dessert; and Rookie of the Year, Schnitzel and Things.
