Coming Soon: Dock Street, Knock and Chilango

Jose Garces
Jose Garces will open Chilango in late '07.

Dock Street, once a fixture off Logan Square before it closed six years ago, is building out a new brewpub in an old city firehouse at 50th Street and Baltimore Avenue in West Philadelphia; it’s aiming for a June opening.

Knock will be a global restaurant/lounge at 12th and Walnut Streets in Center City, says Bill Wood, who sold his interest in the club Woody's, located just a block away from his new venture. It should be open by summer.

Jose Garces, whose Tinto is packing ’em in off Rittenhouse Square, will call his next Philly spot Chilango – a Mexican eatery in the forthcoming Hub complex at 40th and Chestnut Streets. That’s up for late ’07, as he’s also planning a steakhouse in Chicago.
