The city puts on two nights of fireworks (July 4 and 5) as part of Welcome America. July 4th’s blast will take place about 10 PM outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, after the John Legend concert. Grab a bite in Fairmount at London Grill or Illuminare, or head down the Parkway to Mission Grill or Public House at Logan Square, all about 10 minutes from the fun. July 5th’s fireworks at Penn’s Landing (9 PM) will follow a Boyz II Men concert. Old City, a five-minute walk across the I-95 overpasses, offers the restaurant equivalent of the U.N. with cuisines from around the world at spots like Ariana, Campo’s Deli, The Continental and Spasso.
