The sights, sounds and scents of a Tex-Mex border bar are re-created at El Camino Real, a rough-hewn, boisterous hang in Northern Liberties, across from owner Owen Kamihira’s other spot, Bar Ferdinand; the chef turns out two budget-friendly menus – a Texas side, with barbecue and other stick-to-your ribs fare, and a Mexican side with down-home favorites – while the bar features three dozen tequilas and a like number of whiskies.
