Early next month, Chestnut Street gets not one but two high-profile restaurant openings. First is the much-delayed chopshop Union Trust (which first appeared on our radar in 2007). Inside the former Kellmer Jewelers building at 717 Chestnut, the new restaurant boasts 48-ft. ceilings and original marble flooring, and plans to open to the public on February 9th (215-925-6000). Meanwhile, Jose Garces (Amada, Tinto) aims to debut his Peruvian-Cantonese property, Chifa, across a parking lot from Union Trust at 707 Chestnut the next day (215-925-5555).
