Nestled high above the city in the hills of Bernal Heights, Piqueo's, a new Peruvian from chef Carlos Altamirano (Mochica), offers mostly small plates – hence the name – of authentic fare like fried stuffed yuca balls and ceviche, as well as some larger entrees; its warren of small, brick-red dining rooms connected by a series of archways makes diners feel like they’re in the chef’s home, particularly in the front room with its open kitchen.
