The slate bar at Serpentine.

Named after the lime-green rock that’s found underneath its building (an old American Can factory), Slow Club offshoot Serpentine serves midpriced New American cuisine in up-and-coming Dogpatch; like its Mission sibling, the industrial-chic haunt (replete with exposed bricks and columns) doesn’t take reservations, but classic cocktails should help pass the time at the long slate bar while waiting for a seat for lunch (weekdays only) or dinner.
