Sometimes just thinking about the Slow Food movement makes us reach for a drink. But not just any drink – a nice cold glass of "slow beer," of course. If you haven't tippled eco-friendly ale before, now's your chance.
On March 1st, Slow Food San Francisco and the San Francisco Brewers Guild will present Slow Beer, a celebration of local artisanal beer and food in Golden Gate Park featuring suds from over 25 local breweries. Hops-friendly fare such as sausage and charcuterie, Hog Island oysters and artisanal cheeses will keep those 99 bottles of beer from going to your head ($50 per person, includes beer and food; $75 for VIP tickets, which include a tour of one of the breweries and a goodie bag; go to slowbeersf.com for more info, or simply buy your tickets online here).
