SoMa’s Hotel Palomar has reopened its swanky flagship restaurant, Fifth Floor, which is now overseen by chef Laurent Manrique (also of Aqua), who is drawing foodies and businessmen with a menu showcasing traditional dishes of his native Gascony prepared with a Californian sensibility; the venerable wine list remains, but the dining room’s zebra carpet and tablecloths have been removed in favor of an airier, more modern look; N.B. the front lounge, which offers a separate bar menu, is available sans reservations.
