Go Behind the Bar at Bacar

Bacar's Wine Salon will host the beginning of a "Sommelier Supper."

SoMa's Mediteranean bacar has a reputation as a wine hot spot (one surveyor called it an "oenophile's paradise") so spending an evening with the restaurant's wine director, Mickey Clevenger, as he explains how he assembles the wine list should be fascinating. Guests will have that experience at bacar's upcoming "Sommelier Supper" on March 16th, during which they'll also have the opportunity to taste more than 20 wines, including those that aren't yet available at the restaurant. For the "supper" part, they'll eat a family-style dinner prepared by executive chef Robbie Lewis in the mezzanine dining room (7 PM; $75 per person; 415-904-4100).
