L'Ardoise

Off-the-beaten-path bistro L'Ardoise is physically in the Castro, but it conjures France via its brief chalkboard menu of charcuterie, hanger steak with frites and other moderately priced Gallic stalwarts from former Fringale toque Thierry Clement; it’s located in a renovated Victorian house that’s been jauntily made over down to its burgundy exterior and flower boxes.
