The Lower Haight's long-awaited Italian hangout, Uva Enoteca, is now set to open on March 31st. Owned by sommelier Boris Nemchenok (ex Mario Batali’s Otto in NYC and EOS Restaurant & Wine Bar) and chef Ben Hetzel (ex Ritz-Carlton Dining Room), the wine bar will feature a wide selection of antipasti, cheese and panini to complement the all-Italian vino list, much of which will be served by the quartino and 3 oz. taster. Hetzel’s wife, the peripatetic local cult mixologist Camber Lay, will consult on the sparkling wine–based cocktail list (568 Haight St.; 415-829-2024).
