With the Big Sur fires more than 60% contained, Highway 1 has been reopened and area businesses are following suit. Nepenthe and Deetjen's restaurant have reopened (overnight accommodations at Deetjen's Inn will resume August 1st). Post Ranch Inn, Sierra Mar and Esalen plan to relaunch this Friday, and while Ventanna Inn won't open until August 1st, it’s shooting to reopen its restaurant, Cielo, this Friday as well.
